Project Title: Woven Traditions

Angie Joe has lived her whole life at Sarita; a now nearly deserted First Nations reserve. She and her sister, Eunice, lived together for decades in their childhood home after everyone else had moved away. They would spend their days peacefully watching the swans or other times, out of necessity, hunting deer in their front yard. Since Eunice passed away Angie spends her time traveling in and out on the logging road that joins her to the city to teach language and weaving to the next generation. At home, she weaves - always in the natural light and often in silence.

Over the last couple of years I've spend some time photographing, and talking with, Angie, I've created the short below to tell a little bit of her story.
